Register (not required, but would be appreciated – we would like to know how many Cyber Program attendees viewed our website – Thank You.)

Welcome
to our 2020 Wales-Lincoln Cyber Alumni Program. This year will be the first year since the very first banquet ,some 89 years ago, that we will not assemble in a specific location. No one in the last 89 years could have imagined such a pandemic situation that our country, and indeed the World faces today. The bad news of a Cyber Program is that we will not have the opportunity to socialize in-person with our schoolmates, our friends and extended family. But the good news is that Everyone/Anyone that has the access to a computer can attend.

Maybe you have NEVER attended a banquet! There are a lot of positive reasons to have been to a banquet in the past, but there are also many reasons to enjoy a Cyber Program- the primary reason for any banquet (besides the good food) is to recall events for the past … to remember!... after all, "it is all about the memories" . (It was all so different before everything changed.) Of course in my case, my memory is not as sharp as it used to be, and besides, my memory is not as sharp as it used to be. Anyway, you can do all of that in the privacy of your home, and in your underwear, if you so chose - that part is optional! And remember that at this stage of your life, you can divulge secrets because no one is going to remember anyway, and besides that, YOU probably won't remember the secrets that were divulged! 😏

No, we won’t be able to enjoy the great meal from Lu & Al’s that we have enjoyed for the past several years, but here I would suggest the idea that since they will not be able to cater our meal this year, and since we had to cancel their service, that we do use some of our cash on-hand to give them a donation as a good faith gesture on their service from past banquets. (see more in Business portion). .. just a suggestion. So our hope is that you enjoy our Wales-Lincoln Cyber Program in the comfort of your home!

Invocation – ... of course we (most people) still respect our First Amendment Rights and we honor individuals' rights of  "Religious Freedom" in our Great country, so your adherence is optional....
Life is fragile - handle it with care Prayer!
Heavenly Father, in our hearts we plan our course, but we pray that You establish our steps. I pray that we seek You for advice; let us not make decisions based upon what we know but let us act based upon Your wisdom. Please guide us Lord. We place this meeting in Your hands. We place our hearts and our minds in Your hands so that You may direct us, Amen.
Proverbs 16:9

Buffet dinner – you are free to have a meal of your choice this year – or not… that's up to you.

Business Meeting
Minutes from past meetings: forget that part - they were boring anyway. I can report that we had 48 attendees at the 2019 banquet. That is a far cry from attendance in the past, but you all know the primary reason for the continued slide in attendance. I believe approx. 150 that attended the 2005 banquet is the largest in the past 20 years.

Treasurer’s Report
LaDonna (Jones) Rossander ’55 (our treasurer), reports that we do NOT have a million dollars in the bank, but we do have about $1,000 or something like that. We are making a couple of donations… hope you approve, but LaDonna has the checkbook and she is the only one that counts!
1.) Lu & Al’s – $100 - we had scheduled them again for this year's banquet.
2.) Montgomery County History Center - $100 - ditto here, we had scheduled the facility for this year.

We do have a couple revenue generators to cover some of that expense, so buy a book!:
2020 Banquet program (24 pages) - $5 includes Shipping and Handling
Banquet Programs (bound 310 pages m/l) book – programs from 2006 thru 2020  - $25 includes Shipping and Handling (keep in mind that this is “self (Eddie) published”, so it is not fancy binding, but it won’t fall apart - obviously if you get this book, then you would not need the 2020 Banquet program). If you have not been to a banquet, at least for the past 20 or 30 years, then you may find this of interest - lots of pics, stats, quotes - anyway, give it some thought. (Books for sale)

Remembering our friends and schoolmates – in years past, Donna (Wetzel) Corliss ’55 was very much on top of this rather grim reminder of schoolmates that had past away in the preceding year. Donna past away in early 2016, and our database updates have never been quiet the same since. RIP Donna

Class Roll Call – okay, stand up when your graduation year is called… Oh wait!.. guess that doesn’t work for a Cyber Program! Okay, please stay seated... but I would like to hear from you... please?

Letters/emails – I do solicit feedback (please!?) - particularly emails. If we hear from any of you with letters or emails, and if you give us permission, then we will publish such here in this website. We solicit your feedback and comments... click here: Contact Us

Program/Presentation – Of course we will not be able to see  Karen (Fuller) Mellott ‘56 and Carol (Cain) Keast ’56 perform their strip dance this year, … AGAIN!.. sorry! Anyway, we have put together a slide show similar to what we did last year, except this time it will be a “cyber” presentation, and not a projection on a screen. Unlike last year when we “rushed” through the presentation in order to save time for those that had to go to the bathroom, you will be able to “pause” and go anytime, and no need to hurry back – we will wait for you! The focus of the show is on recalling events and inventions of the period of time when we were growing up and in school – the 1940s and 1950s. Then we will recall/reflect on some school activities and events from “The Fuller Years” - 1944 when Fuller Family arrived at Wales-Lincoln, and until 1960 when the last Fuller (Judy) graduated and the high school closed – of course the school did not close because there were no more Fullers to graduate (but it could have), but because of “the changing times” of the day. … sort of sad, but perhaps necessary – we leave that to history. Closing – (after slide presentation)
